Johnston Community Schools
Teacher Librarian
Johnston, IA
Johnston is 1-1 iPads at the middle and high school levels. This school year each elementary building will have multiple classrooms that will be 2-1 iPads. Last year was our first year to have a maker space. Science Center of Iowa staff came out monthly to work with our teacher librarians on integrating the maker space concept. Students loved it and teachers were excited to try new things. Our district is exploring project based learning and I'm planning to introduce PBL with my students beginning with 4th grade. I'm personally passionate about reading, technology, kids, animal welfare, personal development and my family.
